Interview confidence is not learned. It’s already in you

The short answer

Interview confidence does not come from fifty practice answers. It is already in you. With friends you talk about cricket like a commentator, with the same voice and the same brain. What changes in the interview is not your skill but the fear sitting on top of it. Before you walk in, talk for two minutes about something you love.

The myth

The myth says confidence comes from memorising more answers. Memorised answers add more weight on top of the fear. They do not remove it.

What you already have

Talk cricket with friends and you become a commentator. Same voice. Same brain. Nothing is missing in the interview room. Something is added.

The two-minute move

Before the interview, talk for two minutes about something you love, to a friend or to yourself. Your voice warms up the way it does with friends. Then walk in.

Try this next time
  1. Two minutes before your interview, talk about something you love.
  2. Out loud if you can.
  3. Walk in while the voice is still warm.
